Beach Sessions

We have been enjoying Beach Yoga and Pilates at present. The weather is perfect and we are making the most of it while it is still cool enough. One fit lady arrives on her SUP with her energetic dog who has a good swim too. Another goes swimming afterwards as a fitting cool down.

The stroll to and from the beach is exercise in itself!

Here is a great example of DOWN DOG!

We use the railing at the beach for Barre Pilates. Squats, lunges and back stretches. Down on the beach, we ground our feet and perform balance poses. Standing yoga poses like warrior and Sun Goddess build leg strength and stamina. Balance poses are all the more challenging on the beach! Later we get to lie down on our sarongs and do a few abdominal exercises and stretches before the wonderful relaxation. The gentle sound of the sea lapping on the shore, the sun on our skin and the soft sand make for a relaxing savasana.

If you would like to get some Vitamin D, fairly fresh air, and good exercise, join us at the beach. The location is Golden Beach, further towards the Golden Dolphins. Saturday mornings 9am for now. The time may be earlier as the weather heats up. Also on Public holidays there are classes at the beach. 1 May (Tuesday) there will be a beach class!
