Summer Holiday Ease In

After Holiday Fitness plans are underway this week. If you have not done a lot of exercise this summer you certainly are not the only one. After my first class back my stomach muscles ached for days and every day since seems to be a different muscle group that is a little sore eg, shoulders, thighs, glutes. What this demonstrates is what wonderful workouts Pilates and Yoga are!

There are really so many different muscles that we work in these sessions that if is the only workout you do in the week you will have most areas covered. How many times a week is good? I would say three is the perfect number. Twice a week maintains strength and flexibility and once a week is better than nothing. Walking everyday is essential to get in your steps to stay active. Then if we talk about eating that could be a whole topic on its own. The main thing is to eat smaller portions and to move more. Do more, eat less. Simple ...however not easy.

We are all so different in terms of what our energy levels are like and what we can manage so always being compassionate with yourself is a good start.

It is great to work out in the air-conditioned studio at this time of year to escape the rain, heat and biting bugs. Its been small classes the last couple of weeks with many still away. A lovely quiet vibe with rain pelting down outside. Join us as soon as you can and take it easy as your body and mind get connected and you get back to your usual self or a fitter stronger version with the upcoming Shredder Pilates classes, Pilates classes and Yoga.
